Overview

Compensation: $21.00 to $28.00 per hour based on experience and credentials.
Location Type: Hybrid, first 90 days onsite for training.
Position Type: Full Time
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of Suncoast Credit Union insurance products; including but not limited to Collateral and Mortgage Protection Insurance tracking and force placement, Credit Life, Credit Disability Insurance, GAP, Mechanical Repair Coverage (MRC), Escrowed Insurance Payments, Letter of Guarantee and other added-value insurance products.

Responsibilities
  • Administers Suncoast Credit Disability and Credit Life coverage, including but not limited to communicating and directing with members and employees on coverage, enrollment, cancellation and claims for consumer loans and credit cards. Gathers all pertinent documentation and files claims with carrier. Responds to carrier questions regarding claims. Processes member refunds up to $50. Notates Akcelerant of all claim status until claim is closed.
  • Assists members and employees with validating proof of insurance has been received via vendor website. Advises if documentation was received and if not explains what is needed and where to send it.
  • Provides quotes for GAP and MRC policies to members. Issues and funds the policy by debiting funds from member’s share account and crediting to correct general ledger. Refers member to lending if request is to add-on to existing loan. Provides instructions and form if member requests to cancel either product. Provides GAP Claim Handout to members which outlines what is needed to file a Suncoast GAP Claim.
  • Communicates with member and employees to verify if escrowed insurance premiums have been remitted from an escrowed mortgage loan. Provides instructions on steps required if member is switching insurance carriers.
  • Administers the Letter of Guarantee (LOG) process for all total loss vehicle loans. Completes the LOG request, creates loan note that identifies LOG process and if the loan has GAP with Suncoast Credit Union or if purchased from the dealer. Responsible for uploading all supporting documentation to On-Base. Works directly with Members Solutions for approval on any delinquent account prior to completing the LOG.

    Posts all payments received from insurance carrier, updates title release tracking and sets warning codes if deficit balance remains. Notifies member and lending of deficit balance for payment or a workout loan.
  • Administers third-party Auto insurance claims with members, employees, insurance carriers and repair facilities. Obtains pertinent documentation, advises employees on deposits and issuance of payments including any inspections of final affidavits at conclusion of the claim.
  • Effectively communicates with members, employees, insurance carriers and other parties involved via telephone, email or regular mail on any questions or inquires as they pertain to existing loan(s) or enrollment in added-value insurance products.
Qualifications
  • 3 or more years progressively responsible lending and/or collections experience. Previous experience with insurance claims processing.
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Basic accounting knowledge in order to post payments to accounts or general ledgers.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Suncoast Credit Union products, services, policies and procedures, especially as they pertain to insurance products.
  • Must be able to work under general supervision.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Able to resolve routine problems and situations.
