Director of Finance​/Controller

Overview

Norstrem Associates recruits key financial and administrative professionals for companies throughout Central Florida. We are one of the most established and longstanding boutique firms in Florida and have been working with upwardly mobile professionals since 1998.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for Controller & Director of Finance positions with a growing family office and investment advisory firm. The overall focus of these key positions is management of the accounting function and systems, providing financial leadership to all functional areas, and working closely with the CFO & Managing Partners to improve operational effectiveness, management reporting and financial analysis and planning.

Please note: Both of these roles are “in office” roles.

• These positions require timely and effective completion of financial statements and management reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Establishment and maintenance of systems and controls related to monthly close process.
• Lead the budgeting process. Assist with forecasting.
• Manage revenue and order entry function.
• Work with all functional areas to improve operational effectiveness.
• Documentation of critical processes within the company.
• Interaction with corporate and operational staff.
• Assist CFO in the process of raising institutional rounds of funding.
• Assist CFO on FP&A, tax, legal and special projects.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a concentration in accounting.
• 10+ years accounting experience with minimum 5 at the controller or director level.
• Industry experience in investment advisory, RIA, hedge fund or family offices strongly preferred
• CPA, MBA and/or public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong working GAAP knowledge with deep technical accounting understanding.
• Team leader, coach and mentor to staff
• Proficient in Quick Books Online. MS Office proficiency a MUST (to include Access, Word and Excel).
• Above average interpersonal skills and business acumen.
