Job Description:

We are seeking a Commercial Loan Operations Specialist to support commercial and middle market loans, including real estate and asset-based transactions. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing the loan process from approval through closing and throughout the life of the loan in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

This position supports two commercial lenders and manages a pipeline of approximately six to eight loans per month, ensuring timely closings, accurate documentation, and ongoing servicing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial loan files from approval through closing and post-close servicing
  • Coordinate loan closings with attorneys, lenders, and internal operations teams
  • Collect, review, and clear loan documentation, collateral, insurance, and closing conditions
  • Monitor timelines and proactively resolve issues that could delay closing or funding
  • Ensure accurate loan funding, booking, draws, paydowns, and payoffs
  • Support ongoing life-of-loan servicing and respond to loan-related client requests
  • Communicate regularly with lenders regarding status, requirements, and exceptions
  • Maintain accurate records within bank systems and platforms

Required Experience

  • 5–7 years of experience in commercial loan operations, lending support, loan processing, or lending assistant roles
  • Hands-on experience supporting CRE and/or C&I loans
  • Strong understanding of commercial loan documentation and closing processes
  • Experience managing multiple loans simultaneously in a high-volume environment

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and banking systems
