CBIZ Talent Solutions is working with a family-owned real estate investment company who is looking for an accountant to work part time (20-30 hours/week) to assist the CFO in overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including review of financial reports, financial planning, tax, budgeting, accounting and lender and investor reporting. This position will play a key role in developing and implementing financial strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing risk for the organization.
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and multitasking skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Communication with internal staff, remote accounting teams, and property managers and their accounting teams, along with working with the principals of the company.
- Review entities and properties.
- Review of the monthly financial reporting package provided by the remote accounting team and property management companies.
- Review lease, rent rolls, and rent increase schedules.
- Renew loans and promissory notes for entities and properties.
- Review entities that issue quarterly distributions to ensure timely delivery to investors.
- Work with remote accounting team and property managers to complete quarterly cash surplus schedules and investor reporting.
- Adhere to the monthly, quarterly, and yearly due dates for Investor and bank/lender reporting.
- Respond to bank/lender inquiries and requests.
- Communicate with remote accountants and property management companies on closing the year end in a timely manner.
- Prepare and provide list of documents needed for all year-end financial statement reviews and tax returns to the accountants/consultants.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
- Assist with and monitor other annual ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities.
- Manage SharePoint filing system.
Qualifications:
- BA degree in accounting with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Controller or senior level accounting position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
- Yardi, QBO and Experience a Plus.
- Ability to self-manage with strong motivation and willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of management and associates.
