Overview
The Treasury Analyst is responsible for supporting all aspects of Treasury Operations including cash management, debt management, insurance, and pension assets. This position reports to the Treasury Manager who reports directly to the Director of Finance.
Responsibilities- Cash Management:
Develop, manage and execute the company s Cash Management process, determine investment or borrowing decisions through short-term forecasting, set daily cash position, review bank activity, balance accounts and invest excess cash. Ensure all cash activity is recorded in the general ledger, manage wire payments, execute FX transactions as necessary, establish new bank accounts and manage related documentation, and ensure adherence to corporate cash and Treasury SOX internal controls.
Manage banking relationships and fees; approve bank user access. Manage short-term liquidity, including cash, short-term investments and lines of credit; create cash forecasts for financial planning and to anticipate short-term borrowing needs. - Debt Management:
Assist Treasury Manager in managing the company s short and long-term financing needs. Reconcile debt and interest balance sheet accounts, make interest payments, and support routine audit requests. Reconcile lease liabilities to ensure SOX compliance. - Lease Accounting:
Manage equipment leasing processes and perform buy-versus-lease analyses to aid business decisions; reconcile lease liabilities. - Insurance:
Assist in building the company s insurance program to ensure adequate coverage at a low cost. Manage insurance claims, track risk management metrics and reduce total cost of risk. Complete insurance administration and compliance activities; work with brokers to renew policies annually. - Pension Assets:
Assist in asset management oversight, contributions and fee payments; manage pension funded status by reviewing annual valuations, setting funding strategy and making necessary contributions. - Regulatory & Collateral:
Negotiate collateral requirements for energy, insurance and environmental contracts; review regulations to minimize collateral needs for environmental projects; work to reduce collateral requirements and costs where possible; communicate future collateral needs to the Treasury Manager.
- Bachelor s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field; 3-5 years of relevant experience. A master s degree is a plus and can substitute for some experience.
- High level of professionalism due to confidentiality of data involved with insurance claims, banking access, and related activities.
The position reports to the Treasury Manager. It is fast-paced and requires a solid foundation in corporate finance and valuation theory, with the ability to implement practical solutions. The incumbent must articulate complex topics in a simple and straightforward manner to senior management, develop cross-functional contacts for information gathering, and drive continuous improvement and automation of related activities to reduce waste and costs.
