Industrial Engineering Intern

This is an onsite position as part of our Internship Program.

We are seeking a motivated Industrial Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers hands‑on experience in process optimization, production planning, and operational efficiency within a high‑tech defense environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers and program managers to support initiatives that enhance manufacturing workflows, reduce cycle times, and improve resource utilization.

The AEVEX Internship Program gives individuals who are early in their career the opportunity to gain valuable learning opportunities while discussing goals, evaluating performance and receiving regular feedback. This Engineering Intern will work along side the Tactical Systems Team through a variety of disciplines to envision, design, and develop products and systems while developing and refining their technical skills.

• Assist with analyze and improve production and assembly processes for navigation and autonomy systems.
• Assist in developing Lean Manufacturing initiatives to optimize efficiency.
• Collect and interpret data to identify bottlenecks and propose solutions.
• Support capacity planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for mission‑critical projects.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, supply chain, quality assurance) to implement a process improvement.
• Assist with preparing reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools; experience with CAD or simulation software is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Validated academic excellence (3.0 GPA and higher).

• No prior experience necessary.

• Frequently required to sit, and to reach to use computers and other office equipment.
• Frequently required repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

For the purpose of this summary, occasionally is used to represent up to 1/3 of the time given to the work day, frequently represents 1/3 to 2/3 of the time and constantly represents 2/3 or more of the time.

• Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
