MEP Preconstruction and Estimating Manager

• 8+ years of preconstruction or commercial construction experience with 5+ years of relevant MEP preconstruction / estimating experience
• Bachelor of Science in Construction Science, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Project experience includes Commercial (Office Buildings, Hotels, Religious, Life Science, Mission Critical, and Health-Care Facilities) and Industrial (Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing/Assembly Facilities)
• Ability to work effectively in an integrated design / build environment
• Supply-Chain knowledge (purchasing of MEP equipment from suppliers)
• Interest in future MEP technologies
• Detail-oriented team player
• Experience in providing MEP, FP, and LV bid packages
• Experience in identifying risk items in the MEP, FP, and LV scopes of work
• Ability to independently prepare budget MEP, FP, and LV cost estimates based on incomplete documents
• Ability to identify and solicit work from qualified minority subcontractors/vendors
• Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with MEP, FP, and LV subcontractors and vendors
• Ability to independently receive and scope MEP, FP, or LV bids valued up to $30M
• Ability to identify and lead MEP, FP, and LV cost savings through value engineering
• Participation in project pursuit interviews
• Comprehensive understanding of the design process (3rd party or integrated design / build)
• Understanding of Owner contracts and associated obligations
• Understanding of Beck subcontracts and purchase orders and obligations
• Experience in effective management of client relationships
• Ability to identify customer needs and understand their culture
• Ability to promote community involvement among team members and participate in community service
• Active participation in industry professional organizations
• Ability to oversee and direct the work of direct reports

Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; frequently ascends/descends ladders and stairs; constantly works in various outdoor weather conditions; frequently moves equipment up to 50 lbs to various locations on site; constantly communicates with subcontractors, vendors, and other members of the project team; ability to move around the job site on uneven surfaces; spends much of the day standing.
