As part of continued technical expansion this firm is looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer to support engineering efforts and strategic growth with their already successful team in Florida. Key Responsibilities- Take a leading role in designing new bridge structures as well as upgrades, expansions, and replacements of existing structures
- Perform structural assessments, field inspections, and load‑rating analyses for in‑service structures.
- Provide senior‑level technical guidance, conduct peer reviews, and support QA/QC processes for bridge deliverables.
- Support professional growth of junior and mid‑level engineers through mentoring and day‑to‑day oversight.
- Coordinate with teams across the state and within the wider organization on major bridge‑related initiatives.
- Contribute to projects involving a wide variety of structural types, from small culverts and ancillary support structures to complex steel and concrete bridges.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
- At least 10 years of experience focused on bridge engineering and design.
- Active Florida Professional Engineer license or the ability to secure one within six months.
- Experience working on large‑scale bridge systems such as segmental concrete bridges, curved steel girder bridges, post‑tensioned components, box girders, or structures designed for vessel impact.
- Strong working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards.
- Practical experience using FDOT manuals, procedures, and software tools.
- Proficiency with bridge design and structural analysis programs.
- Proven ability to develop strong relationships internally and with external partners.
- Prior experience supervising and developing engineering staff.
- Willingness to travel for project work, client visits, and inter‑office collaboration.
- Solid professional track record and dedication to producing high‑quality engineering work.
- Commitment to continued technical learning and professional advancement.
- Master's degree or specialty coursework in structural engineering.
- Previous work with other DOTs in the Southeast or Mid‑Atlantic regions.
