Role DescriptionWe are prepared to offer this role on a contract basis - remotely, but preference will be given to applicants living in the state of Florida. This is not yet a full-time but may evolve into either a long term contract or W2.
A SCADA programmer, proficient in Ignition to develop RestAPI to interface between MES / ERP and PLC systems - Rockwell and Siemens.
You will have a deep understanding of Siemens and Rockwell Protocols, of SQL and knowledge of WMS / Order systems such as Manhatten, Blueyonder, SAP and Swisslog. An understanding of OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, TCP/IP.
The candidate will be responsible for programming PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, implementing and testing RestAPI integrations, and working with Ignition platforms. The role involves analyzing customer requirements, developing custom automation solutions, troubleshooting existing systems, and performing on-site commissioning. Collaboration with engineers and clients to ensure project success is essential. Documentation of processes, system designs, and testing procedures will also be a key part of this role.
Qualifications- Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI configuration, and SCADA system development
- Experience with RestAPI development, Ignition platforms, and automation system integration
- Strong troubleshooting, commissioning, and system diagnostics skills
- Knowledge of programming and deploying European (Siemens, Modicon) and Japanese (Mitsubishi, OMRON) automation systems
- Ability to travel for on-site work and adapt to global project requirements
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Understanding of C, C# and C++ will be a distinct advantage.
