Position SummaryWe are currently seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer for our Tampa, Florida office. This is a vacant position for which we are actively recruiting. EssentialJob Functions
- Review and authenticate designs related to site preparation, stormwater management, grading, access roads, and fencing for power industry projects.
- Liaise with project stakeholders, including discipline leads, project managers, vendors, contractors, and clients, ensuring smooth information flow.
- Apply knowledge of North American and international codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership to the civil engineering team.
- Participate in design reviews, providing expert input on municipal sewer and industrial design, including:
- Grading and drainage design
- Site utilities and tie-ins
- Erosion control
- Monitor project schedules and budgets, providing regular status updates.
- Attend project meetings and contribute technical insights.
- 6+ years of experience in municipal engineering, preferably in transmission lines, high-voltage substations, industrial, power generation, hydro, or utility projects.
- Extensive experience in site preparation, drainage, grading, and access roads.
- Strong knowledge of civil design standards in North America.
- Excellent communication, report writing, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Professional Engineer (PE) license in the U.S. or Canada.
- Experience with Civil 3D, XP Storm, Water Cad, Auto Turn, and Auto Desk AVT is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Business development and structural design experience are assets.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to sit or stand as required and remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the workday.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, including continuous operation of a computer and other standard office equipment such as calculators, copiers, and printers.
- The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting.
- Periodic travel may be required and could involve limited exposure to extreme temperatures. Travel may include air travel, during which the employee may be required to remain seated for extended periods.
