Opportunity
RS&H seeks an Early-Career Airport Planner for our Aviation Practice in Tampa, FL. This position requires a highly motivated candidate with strong analytical and communication skills and a passion for aviation. The successful applicant will help deliver solutions to airport clients, undertake challenging technical assignments, and be involved in discrete planning tasks as well as major master plan and on-call planning assignments across the United States.
This role is ideal for a creative, self‑motivated, and collegial professional who is ready to further their career and development as an industry-recognized aviation planner.
- Assist aviation planning staff on master plans, terminal and site plans, and ALP development.
- Support environmental assessments and other aviation-specific technical assignments.
- Work under direct supervision of others.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Planning, Management, Business, Engineering, Architecture, or an equivalent accredited discipline.
- 3–5 years of related experience.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with employees, consultants, and clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), AutoCAD, and GIS software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated understanding of airport planning issues and the ability to undertake technical assignments.
- Strong understanding of an airport/airfield environment.
- Graphic layout capability (Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD, and/or GIS).
- Proven knowledge and application of aviation skills, including FAA guidelines and airport planning and geometry requirements.
