Join the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of South Florida (USF) as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, with a start in Fall 2026. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
Job DescriptionThe USF Department invites applications for tenured/tenure-track faculty positions, with particular consideration for expertise in Computational Supersonic and Hypersonic Flows, AI, Autonomy, and Robotics, Drones and Urban Air Mobility, Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace Materials, and Energy Systems.
Responsibilities- Submit a single PDF application packet including cover letter, detailed CV, at least four professional references, and a 5-page statement of research plans and teaching interests with broader impacts.
- Engage in scholarly research, teaching, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and seek external research funding.
- Minimum: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; demonstrated scholarly record; meet university criteria for appointment.
- Preferred: Sustained excellence in research and publications; potential for externally funded program; strong commitment to teaching and mentoring; international recognition of work.
