Job SummaryThe Project Manager is responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling all aspects of project execution and is ultimately accountable for bringing in projects on schedule and at or below budget. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to manage complex projects across departments. Projects range from capital improvements to the turn-key engineering, procurement, and construction of reverse osmosis drinking water plants for seawater and brackish water installations.
Experience with sea water reverse osmosis (SWRO) is highly preferred.
- Plan, monitor, and control project execution to deliver on time and within budget.
- Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with operations, engineering, procurement, and construction staff.
- Direct design personnel and manage the work of mechanical designers, project assistants, and other project staff as required.
- Manage project changes, including schedule and cost updates, using change order management and verification techniques.
- Conduct site visits during construction to manage contractors and ensure schedule compliance.
- Communicate effectively and escalate issues to management in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with upper management and other stakeholders; demonstrate political savvy.
- Utilize data analytics and PowerPoint to communicate concepts clearly up and down the organization.
- Maintain transparency regarding schedules, performance, NCRs, and KPIs related to project performance.
- Plan, organize, schedule, assign, and evaluate work of team members; ensure strong organizational practices.
- Have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Teams; read and interpret mechanical drawings (P&IDs, PFDs, GA’s).
- Direct design personnel and manage project budgets typically in the range of $1-5 million.
- Maintain excellent client-facing and written/verbal communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
- Maintain a strong ethical stance and work harmoniously within the organization’s values.
- Travel up to 15-20% as needed across U.S., Caribbean, etc.
- BS in Engineering required; preference for Chemical, Mechanical, or equivalent.
- PMP certification preferred.
- 2-5 years of related experience in Project Engineering/Management required.
- 5 years of related experience in the water treatment industry required; experience in membrane-based water treatment highly preferred.
- BS in Engineering required; preference in Chemical, Mechanical, or commensurate field.
- PMP certification preferred.
