Storm Duty RequirementsTampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.
Responding to storms will be considered a condition of employment.

POSITION CONCEPTThe Engineer I, Engineer II, Senior Engineer, or Principal Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the electrical system is properly protected according to Tampa Electric’s policies and good engineering practice. The Engineer I, Engineer II, Senior Engineer, or Principal Engineer provides consulting services to other departments relating to system protection.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReview proposed construction projects and ensure they may be protected properly. Help evaluate new protection products to determine if they are appropriate for the TECO system. Perform fault studies for use by ED Engineering and Construction and other company departments. 10%.
Maintain at all time awareness of safety in all aspects of substation engineering, construction and operations. 15%.

Key Internal:
Substation Engineering, Substation Operations, Grid Operations, Grid Planning, Energy Supply Engineering and Operations, RF Control Systems.
Key External:
Industrial and large commercial customers, Consulting Engineers, Contractors, FRCC staff and committees.
Education –
Required:
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering college.
Education – Preferred: BS Degree in Power System Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering college.

Required:
