Signal Timing Engineer

WSP USA is seeking a Signal Timing Engineer to work out of our Tampa, FL office.

• Develop, integrate, and fine‑tune signal timing changes.
• Provide supervision and directions for signal operational modifications.
• Conduct field reviews when necessary to evaluate and resolve signal operation issues.
• Ensure signal operation modifications are signed, sealed, and properly documented per client policies.
• Prepare system performance reports.
• Assist the signal timing team with signal/system retiming efforts and reporting results.

• Graduated from an accredited four‑year college or university with a degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum five years of experience with traffic signal operation, retiming, and central systems.
• Strong knowledge of traffic signal systems, controller operation, Signal Central Systems, ITS, and traffic engineering principles.
• Proficiency with traffic signal analysis programs such as SYNCHRO, HCS, etc.
• Professional Engineering license in the state of Florida.
• Good leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions on a routine basis and coordinate real‑time activities.
• Ability to write technical reports and correspondence.
• Ability to work alternate work schedules.
