Position SummaryReporting to the Director of Engineering, the Process Engineering Manager requires a deep understanding of Hot fill, Cold fill, and aseptic processing unit operations, equipment, dairy manufacturing technologies, etc. Experience in both design as well as start‑up and operation. No direct report in this role, responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining P& related to process designs and facility modifications. This corporate role ensures accuracy and compliance with engineering standards while supporting capital projects, equipment installations, and process improvements across multiple manufacturing sites.
EssentialJob Functions
- Design and map out piping systems for utilities, process lines, and CIP systems, ensuring proper routing, sizing, and efficiency.
- Assist in selecting appropriate pumps, valves, and process equipment to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Ensure proper integration of piping and process equipment into facility layouts while adhering to safety, sanitary, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct onsite 3D scanning and field reviews to validate and update existing layouts and designs.
- Support installation activities by coordinating with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accurate execution of designs.
- Assist with system startups and commissioning by verifying equipment functionality, troubleshooting integration issues, and ensuring alignment with design specifications.
- Integrate new equipment into existing packaging systems while ensuring compatibility and compliance with company and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to enhance production line efficiency and minimize bottlenecks.
- Provide technical guidance to OEMs and contractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and company standards.
- Review vendor drawings, specifications, and submittals to confirm compatibility with project requirements.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.
- Provide technical expertise during client meetings, presentations, and project discussions to ensure alignment with expectations.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains that align with business growth strategies.
- Lead the development of detailed CAD drawings for packaging lines, equipment layouts, piping systems, and facility modifications.
- Oversee drawing accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with project scope and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on project design and execution.
- Develop conceptual process designs and capital cost estimates.
- Determine equipment sizing, spacing, and utility requirements for optimal performance.
- Design detailed layouts for packaging, process, and utility equipment, ensuring proper sizing and selection.
- Assess constructability to streamline installation and minimize project risks.
- Create and manage engineering documentation, including plant, packaging, and process layouts, equipment specs, and standards.
- Develop and maintain 2D and 3D CAD drawings for accurate project execution.
- Generate equipment, valve, instrumentation, and utility worksheets and lists.
- Perform engineering calculations for OEE, accumulation analysis, V‑Curve generation, line staffing, and material flows.
- Optimize designs to align with customer needs, regulatory standards, and internal requirements.
- Support installation, startup, and commissioning of process systems to ensure smooth operations.
- Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software, with AutoCAD and Plant 3D preferred, along with MS Office.
- Utilize scanning and point cloud technology for accurate site assessments and design integration.
