Job Overview

Licensed professional engineer assigned as a technical lead, project manager or team leader to provide engineering services for the investigation, evaluation, planning, computer modeling, design, construction, and construction inspection of public infrastructure and systems for projects.

Ideal Candidate

• Manages Hillsborough County’s Technical Services Division review process.
• Supervise employees that are responsible for administering the SharePoint review process.
• Prioritizes tasks and provides direction when unique situations or requirements arise.
• Utilizes extensive knowledge of roadway design to determine all necessary documents are submitted.
• Provides high level review of plans and reports to advise reviewers of areas of concern.
• Identifies disciplines to participate in the submittal reviews.
• Assures selection of reviewers is complete based on scope of the work and identifies additional discipline reviewers judged to be needed.
• Assigns and tracks the progress of all reviews assigned.
• Manages and renews Consultant review contracts.
• Coordinates with consultant PMs to determine staff hours for review assignments and logs and tracks the assignments and hours.
• Responsible for filling reviewer positions comprised of Consultant and County personnel.
• Participates in the comment resolution meetings when issues cannot be resolved within the standard Review Process.
• Performs reviews of Design Exceptions, Design Deviation Memorandums and Typical Section Packages.
• Performs review or assigns a Consultant to review FDOT projects for Roadway and Signing and Marking disciplines.
• Perform reviews for Right of Way Vacates and for Right of Way Use Permits.
• Reviews project cost estimates for inhouse projects.
• Answer technical inquiries concerning design and standards.
• Performs yearly employee reviews.

Min $82,804.80 annually
