Position: Project Engineer - Aerospace with Security Clearance
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead engineering execution for advanced aerospace and unmanned systems programs. This role partners closely with Engineering, Program Management, and Business Development to drive technical delivery across the full system lifecycle—from concept through sustainment. This position is ideal for a senior engineer with strong project leadership, UAS or aircraft experience, and comfort operating in a classified, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Develop and manage engineering project plans aligned to program requirements, cost, schedule, and risk
Coordinate with engineering discipline leads to define execution plans, task sequencing, and resource projections
Support Program Management with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development and execution
Review contractual deliverables and define NRE scope and execution plans
Provide inputs to Business Development activities and proposal efforts
Actively manage project timelines and deliverables using JIRA, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Teams
Deliver regular program status briefings to internal leadership and customer stakeholders
Execute Technical Authority as delegated by the Chief Engineer, including:
Review and approval of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
Review and approval of internal design artifacts across the full product lifecycle
Chair Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings to drive cross-functional alignment and remove blockers
Lead and present formal design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, FDR)
Lead structured 8D root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

Required Qualifications Active TS/SCI clearance (required – no exceptions)
10+ years of experience leading engineering teams on aircraft, UAS, or complex electro-mechanical systems + Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience
Strong experience tailoring Systems Engineering processes based on program constraints
Experience developing Requirements Verification Traceability Matrices (RVTM)
Demonstrated ability to manage requirements using Systems Engineering tools
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and business productivity tools

Preferred Experience Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Flight test experience
RC Aircraft or UAS background
JIRA task and workflow management
Experience operating in ISO 9001 / AS9100 compliant environments
Master’s degree in Engineering
PMP certification
