AECOM is seeking a highly skilled civil engineer with a background in airfield and landside design and construction to join our Aviation Civil Engineering team in Tampa, Florida. You will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of complex airfield and landside improvement projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative, resilient, and sustainable airport solutions for a range of airports including major commercial hubs and military installations.

• Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of airport engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, vehicle service roads, airfield lighting and signage installation, navigational aids, drainage improvements, utility relocation and protection, and pavement rehabilitation.
• Develop civil airfield design and construction improvement documents.
• Coordinate with planning and design teams, contractors, and sub-consultants on ongoing projects.
• Perform aviation-related civil design, planning, construction support, and client management for General Aviation and Commercial airports.
• Involve in projects from planning through construction administration, including grading, drainage, pavement design, specifications, and construction safety plans.
• Collaborate with delivery teams of multi-disciplinary design engineers and technicians.
• AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D design management duties.
• Analyze GIS data, as-builts, survey data, geotechnical data, and subsurface utilities for project development.
• Supervise and coordinate multiple projects concurrently and establish positive client relationships.
• Coordinate with clients, funding agencies, state aviation officials, FAA, and local permit agencies.
• Include regular site visits during design and construction phases throughout Florida.

Minimum:

• BS in Civil Engineering
• 4 years of airport/airfield planning or civil engineering design experience or demonstrated equivalency

Preferred:

• Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience in airport improvements from planning through design and construction
• Knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and Airport Design and Engineering Standards
• EI certification (preferably in Florida)
• 6+ years of aviation/airport civil engineering experience

Compensation: USD 95,000 – USD 135,000 per year, dependent on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
