We have an immediate opening for a Senior Highway Engineering Leader in our Tampa, FL office. We are a rapidly growing company with a strong industry reputation and an expanding presence in the Florida market. This position will play an important role in expanding our market presence and supporting our design disciplines within Florida and company wide.
Responsibilities- Strategic business development
- Hiring and mentoring staff
- Client and project management
- Develop and lead a regional highway design group that pursues, secures, and manages projects primarily for public sector clients (e.g., FDOT, metropolitan planning organizations, transit agencies, municipal clients, and other public entities)
- Manage and mentor staff of all levels and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
- Prepare scopes of work, fee estimates, and project schedules
- Travel to project sites, company offices, and client meetings as required
- Maintain positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
- Continuously learn and grow technically and professionally within the company
- Utilize and develop new technologies and approaches for performing work
- A minimum of sixteen (16) years of experience in highway design
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering;
Master’s Degree or other advanced degree desirable - P.E., registered in the state of Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Strong knowledge of FDOT standards, specifications, policies, and procedures
- Experience designing roadway projects and preparing contract documents in accordance with FDOT standards and procedures; experience with other state and local agencies in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic a plus
- Experience with Alternative Delivery projects (Design-Build, P3, etc.) a plus
- Proven track record of developing and growing design groups and establishing external and internal relationships
