We are currently seeking a Project Manager / Civil Engineer to join our expanding Tampa, FL office. This is a dynamic leadership opportunity to work on a wide range of civil and aviation-related infrastructure projects, including local assignments for the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA) and large-scale airport initiatives across the country.
Role Summary
As a Project Manager / Civil Engineer, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams through all phases of planning, design, and delivery of complex projects. You’ll play a key role in business development, project execution, and client relationship management—while also helping to mentor junior staff and contribute to the growth of our Tampa Aviation team.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and manage a variety of aviation and civil infrastructure projects
- Oversee stormwater, utility infrastructure, and pavement design and assessments
- Manage construction support services, including construction management and inspection
- Lead and coordinate large, multi-disciplinary design teams
- Prepare engineering plans, specifications, reports, and permit applications
- Analyze design alternatives, technical data, cost estimates, and project schedules
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Maintain and grow client relationships with local and national aviation partners
- Support business development, including proposal preparation and client presentations
- Mentor and develop junior team members to promote technical excellence
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Minimum of 7 years of civil engineering experience, including at least 3 years in civil engineering project design
- Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Demonstrated experience managing aviation or transportation infrastructure projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office suite
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to travel to client sites throughout the region
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with City of Tampa (CoT), Hillsborough County, Plant City, FDOT, FAA, and local permitting agencies
- Familiarity with civil engineering design, site development, and utility coordination
- Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D and related engineering software
