Plumbing Engineer

BR+A Consulting Engineers, founded in 1975, is a mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering and building commissioning firm with more than 500 employees. Primary offices include Boston and multiple branch offices across the United States.  +A provides integrated design, technology systems, lighting design, and commissioning services.

BR+A is seeking a Plumbing Engineer in our Coral Gables (Miami) or Tampa, FL office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of experience.

• Familiarity with specification writing
• Performing field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects
• Coordinating with other disciplines
• Developing calculations for plumbing system sizing
• Thorough knowledge of local plumbing codes
• Understanding work planning and managing the design process within available hours
• Meeting with clients and working with contractors
• Overseeing deliverables to and from clients
• Taking ownership of assignments and working independently and as part of the project team

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
• Strongly motivated, well organized, and shows professional initiative
• Excellent communication skills
• Proactive and collaborative team member
• Experience designing Healthcare, Commercial, Higher Education and Laboratory projects is a plus
• PE License strongly preferred
