Safety Professional II – Build safe and reliable construction projects with Gilbane.
Overview – Gilbane, a Top‑10 ENR contractor, is seeking a Safety Professional II to support all safety efforts on a project with less than 250 workforce, non‑high hazard work, and approval of safety training, systems, and processes across the organization. You will promote Gilbane’s commitment to safety and ensure contractors comply with safety plans and documentation requirements.

Responsibilities- Promote the Gilbane Cares safety culture.
- Ensure contractor activities are planned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, JHA review, STAs, etc.
- Ensure contractors meet Gilbane safety submittal requirements and compliance with the safety plan and expectations.
- Maintain all safety‑related documentation.
- Recommend actions for hazardous situations.
- Audit and monitor project team implementation of the Safety Plan using Safety Net.
- Perform at least 15 Safety Net inspections per month, with at least 100 observations in each inspection.
- Provide safety training to project teams on Gilbane, client, and OSHA requirements.
- Investigate all accidents/near‑misses and complete required paperwork.
- Ensure project teams have safety equipment and resources.
- Assist Corporate and Division Safety Directors with miscellaneous administration support.
- Participate in Safety Report/Dashboard reviews and coordinate follow‑up actions.
- Coordinate with Gilbane IT/Data Group for integration of Safety Observation software data into the Electronic Data Warehouse.
- Provide recommendations to improve Safety Observation software use and micro‑strategy dashboard designs.
- Establish standards for entering projects, vendors, and users; use standard reports to ensure consistency and accuracy of data.
- Assist with Program Management Systems software questions, issues, data scrubbing and coordinate vendor assistance if required.
- Manage rollout of Safety training in the field (Safety Observation software, Program Management Systems, micro‑strategies, etc.).
- Provide ergonomic training, assessments, and recommendations to employees enterprise‑wide.
- Provide First Aid/CPR/AED training to employees when traveling to jobsites and offices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Management, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques, and methods.
- Knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations, and policies.
- Capable of identifying potential exposures and recommending corrective action.
- Computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
For Florida, salary ranges $70,100–$96,400 plus benefits and retirement program. Gilbane offers competitive health benefits and a generous profit‑sharing/401k plan.
