Overview

Safety Coordinator role at Air Centers of Florida

Position provides technical safety and health support to all company personnel. Develops corporate safety and health programs and objectives and coordinates safety training programs. Monitors safety and health regulations and provides technical support to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical safety and health support and information to personnel.
  • Prepare written safety and health programs and policies.
  • Identify company safety training needs and develop and coordinate safety training programs.
  • Review and make recommendations to the ACF Safety Health Manual.
  • Conduct routine job site inspections to ensure safety protocols are consistently followed.
  • Perform quarterly office and vehicle inspections in all branches.
  • Ensure compliance with ISNetworld, Avetta and other third-party sites regarding client safety requirements and training.
  • Track OSHA and MSHA hours through ISNetworld, Avetta and other third-party sites.
  • Prepare OSHA and MSHA quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Participate in process reviews, including process hazard analyses, forklift operator training, and CPR training coordination.
  • Support all ACF facilities to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
  • Assist personnel in selecting appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of PPE and safety supplies (e.g., eye goggles, first aid kits).
  • Assign monthly safety training to all personnel company-wide.
  • Assist in implementing a hazard communication program and preparation of reports.
  • Review process-operating procedures/records and provide input for safety and health considerations.
  • Understand and monitor federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and regulatory changes.
  • Provide technical support to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Advise corporate staff of regulatory changes with sufficient advance notice to ensure compliance by the effective date.
  • Audit practices and records to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state regulations.
  • Assist Human Resources in monitoring lost-time injuries/illnesses and workers’ compensation claims; compile OSHA 300 and 300A forms annually.
  • Review injury/illness and noninjury incident investigation reports and follow up as necessary.
Additional Job Functions
  • Travel to conduct out-of-town training quarterly
  • Order new hire PPE and uniforms
  • Receive driving complaints and provide written reports
  • Submit meters for annual calibration
  • Conduct incident investigations and reporting
  • Coordinate all vehicle repairs with insurance companies
  • Send monthly reports from GPS system
Required Experience, Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment at customer sites or in branch warehouses
  • Must wear proper PPE as applicable
  • Time management skills on a continuous basis
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Basic mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Proven interpersonal skills with internal and external customers
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Operate forklift vehicle (company forklift safety training and certification provided and required)
Qualifications Minimum Job Qualifications

Combination of either a Bachelor's degree and 2 years risk management or operations background.

Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements; training on the following:

  • Supervisor Trainer Introduction to Safety and Health Management
  • Course in OSHA Standards for General Industry
  • OSHA Certification
  • MSHA Certification
  • Forklift Trainer
  • CPR Certification
  • Safety Development Program Training
  • Introduction to Accident Investigation
