Berkeley Preparatory School is seeking a full-time Library Director to oversee all aspects of the Middle and Upper Division library programs and facilities, while fostering collaboration with the Lower Division Librarian.
The successful candidate will curate resources, lead media and digital literacy initiatives, and collaborate with faculty and administrators to ensure the library's program aligns with the school's mission, curriculum, and goals. They will foster a creative, dynamic environment that empowers students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, and knowledgeable researchers.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution and have demonstrated experience in library program management, faculty collaboration, and staff supervision. A background in information literacy instruction, collection development, and emerging information technologies is essential. Experience leading a library renovation and an additional degree in Education are a plus. Candidates must show a strong willingness to receive feedback regularly, grow professionally, and significantly contribute to the life of the school.
Compensation and Benefits: The appointment is available August 2026 and is a full-time, salary, exempt position and eligible for full benefits. The compensation package will be very competitive nationally and commensurate with experience, certification attainment, and the national independent school and college markets.
