The Children’s Wellness and Safety Instructor Intern – responsibilities and skills:
Bay Care Kids Wellness and Safety Center is dedicated to providing essential health and safety programs to the entire Tampa Bay community. We offer services that are accessible to everyone, regardless of income.
Our team travels across Bay Care’s four-county footprint (Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Hillsborough), delivering a range of age-specific community health and safety programs as well as vital pediatric medical services. We aim to encourage and empower children and their caregivers to develop healthy nutritional habits and vital safety skills. For more information, visit www.

An Instructor Intern will have the opportunity to:
- Assist with Kids Power curriculum implementation in K–12 schools and other community settings
- Gain classroom management experience
- Engage with children and caregivers at community events to promote healthy habits
- Educate middle and high-school students in basic CPR skills
- Complete a special project based on skill set and field of interest

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program related to education or community health or a related field
- Two-semester minimum, not including summer (summer availability preferred)
- Candidates should be available most Monday and Friday mornings and able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
- Reliable transportation across Bay Care’s four-county footprint, transporting curriculum and event materials (county of focus based on home location)
- Level 2 background check and drug screen
- Passion for education and experience working with children (volunteer or paid)
- Self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills
