Assignment Coordinator (Finance)
Position:
The Housing Assignments Coordinator works closely with other professionals in Housing and Residential Education (HRE) to administer and manage housing and residence education programs. This position has primary responsibility for managing on‑campus housing assignments processes, room selection, room transfer, and general development and operation of the Star Rez Housing Management System for populations including First‑Time in College, Returning, Transfer students, and special populations.
The role primarily serves a range of residential populations and campuses. Some evenings and weekend work are required. Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. On‑campus position with salary: $50,000.
- Bachelor's degree with at least one year of customer service experience; or a Master's degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field.

Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements - Postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
- (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;
- (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
- (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
- Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
- Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
- Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, MBA, or related field from a regionally accredited university/college and three years of related experience in University Student Housing or Student Affairs.
- Experience with writing SQL statements, databases, RMS, Star Rez and process improvement practices are a plus.
- Oversee daily management of on‑campus housing assignments processes including residence hall assignments, room selection processes, room changes, space management, etc. for non‑program specific populations.
- Maintain accurate records of affiliated property's occupancy rosters.
- Work with department and campus partners to coordinate ADA assignments for students with special accommodation needs.
- Develop custom reports and queries for individuals, departments, and outside entities.
- Assist with the coordination of all occupancy, usage, and reporting efforts for the Office of Housing and Residential Education, including identifying trends, projections, and forecasting of future housing needs.
- Make recommendations for improving areas of efficiency, sustainability, training, and automation.
- Train users and functional teams in the Star Rez modules in which they work. This occurs on a one‑on‑one, departmental, and inter‑department format.
- Approach service delivery and office operations in a friendly, positive and professional manner.
- Research and respond to complex inquiries from students, parents, and campus partners to provide or obtain information regarding Housing & Residential Education services, options, programs, policies or procedures.
- Serve as primary supervisor for student assistants performing data entry of roles and functions, i.e. Office Desk/Reception, Summer Call‑Center, etc.
- Conduct presentations and staff the resource table about on‑campus housing for new student events.
- Participate in various internal and external meetings related to occupancy management.
- Participate in after‑hours rotation for assignments related issues.
- All other duties as assigned.
