Job Description

Harbor View Creative Learning Center is looking for a Young Toddler Teacher to join our team!

Pay starts between $16.00 - $18.00 based on education and experience. On‑going pay raises for all employees are awarded based on meeting program standards and expectations. If you are a good fit for our program, we love to promote and help all our teaching staff grow! Career advancement is always available, and we are willing to assist.

  • All Employees will accrue Personal Time and PTO hours that do not expire and can roll over to the following year.
  • Sick Pay will be accrued for a maximum of 48 hours, paid out for absences due to illness each calendar year. Sick pay hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.
  • Holiday pay will be paid based on your individual average hours worked and will be paid to each employee after their 60‑day probationary period.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a fun and creative lesson plan suitable for children between 12‑24 months of age
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self‑esteem
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc.)
  • Track children’s progress and report to parents
  • Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
  • Collaborate with other educators
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience working in a licensed childcare facility
  • 45 DCF Training Hours
  • CDA preferred
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills
  • Ability to act as a mediator between children
  • Cool‑tempered, friendly, and reliable
  • Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
