Employment Opportunity
High School Mathematics teacher for the school year. Full-time, exempt, 10-month position commencing in August 2026. The teacher reports to the High School Principal.
Qualifications- Bachelor's or master’s degree in education or a related field.
- Education background and high school teaching experience preferred.
- Florida Certificate required.
- Support the mission and goals of the Sisters of the Holy Names and the initiatives set forth by the AHN Board of Trustees.
- Maintain a classroom environment based on respect that reflects the values and mission of the Sisters of the Holy Names.
- Establish a culture of learning and an environment of positive social interaction that actively engages students in learning and self-motivation.
- Confidence in the teaching of Math to high school students (AP experience helpful but not required).
- Plan and develop effective lesson plans that cover the curriculum and address the student's interests and needs.
- Integrate technology into the curriculum.
- Accurately assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and effectively adapt instruction based on these assessments.
- Keep accurate records, ensure that students are progressing, and monitor progress through progress reports and report cards.
- Perform supervision duties as assigned.
- Meet with students and parents to discuss any concerns or issues with student progress and learning.
- Participate in school-based committees and work with other teachers in the science department and other departments in the school.
- Attend and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
- Experience planning for a block schedule with lessons that demonstrate a variety of pedagogical approaches.
