Lower Division Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

Overview

Berkeley Preparatory School is seeking a full-time Pre-Kindergarten teacher for the  school year. The Pre-Kindergarten teacher will work collaboratively with a full-time instructional assistant to plan the instructional program and teach lessons to whole and small groups that are age-appropriate and address individual student needs.

• Plan instructional activities in collaboration with a full-time instructional assistant.
• Teach lessons to whole and small groups, addressing the age-appropriate developmental needs of Pre-K students.

• 3-5 years of classroom teaching experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with the Workshop model, Shared Reading and Writing, Orton-Gillingham, and Singapore Math is beneficial.
• Good sense of humor, positive outlook, and appreciation of the unique qualities of this age group.
• Strong willingness to receive feedback regularly, grow professionally, and contribute to the life of the school; ability to work in a culturally and ethnically diverse environment.

The appointment is available August 2026 and is a full-time, salary, exempt position eligible for full benefits. Compensation is competitive nationally and commensurate with experience, certification attainment, and the national independent school and college markets.
