Jesuit High School College Counselor

Mission and context: Jesuit High School, a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory school, seeks a College Counselor to promote the school’s values and support students in their post-secondary planning.

• Providing direct counseling and guidance to students and families in all aspects of the college planning process at all grade levels.
• Writing clear, personalized letters of recommendation and supporting documentation.
• Maintaining timely communications with students regarding admissions deadlines and financial aid processes.
• Assisting with meetings for students, including coordinating admissions timelines and deadlines.
• Coordinating group meetings for parents and students, including planning an annual college application program and coordinating campus visits, and hosting university representatives on campus.
• Incorporating technology to streamline work and enhance service to students.
• Teaching a college counseling class throughout the year and assisting with administering standardized testing on campus.
• Participating in informational evenings and other duties as assigned, and supporting other duties as needed.
• Representing the school at conferences and college visits, and coordinating with local colleges to disseminate information about multiple topics.
• Supporting the college counseling program by assisting in administrative tasks and ensuring compliance with professional standards.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Excellent counseling, writing, and communication skills; strong organizational and technological proficiency.
• A minimum of three years of experience in college counseling and/or admissions.
• Level II Background Screening.
