The Florida High Tech Corridor is an exciting, future‑facing organization dedicated to supporting technologists across academia, government, and business. We promote economic and workforce development across a 23‑county region within Florida, with initiatives such as the Matching Grants Research Program, Cenfluence, and STEM workforce programs. This student position offers a unique experience at the nexus of applied research, high technology, document, and community partnership.
PositionResponsibilities
- Support website development and maintenance, updating webpages, enhancing optimisation, and troubleshooting server/hosting problems using Word Press.
- Compose social media posts and newsletters, source photos and stories, research related events, identify program testimonials, and interact with viewers on Linked In and Mailchimp.
- Create graphic design templates and marketing collateral—including social media headers/photos, event collateral, program flyers, and marketing ads—using Canva, Adobe, and Notion.
- Maintain and enhance documentation and reporting systems for client activities, including shared internal Word, PowerPoint, Excel files, Airtable, Trello, Constant Contact, and other necessary systems.
- Conduct strategic research projects to generate leads for various programs, identifying technologies, faculty expertise, and industry partners, and evaluating them for possible connections guided by full‑time staff.
- Assist full‑time staff with broad organisational activities such as logistics for program events and marketing & recruitment of participants.
- Perform additional operational activities under the direction of full‑time staff.
- Must be a current USF student.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Undergraduate or graduate students majoring in Communications, Digital Communication and Multimedia Journalism, Digital Journalism and Design, Public Relations and Advertising, Mass Communications, Advertising, Marketing, or related fields are preferred.
- Proficient in Canva and Adobe design systems.
- Proficient in Word Press website development.
- Graduating between December 2026 and December 2028.
- Ability to learn and become proficient in Canva, Adobe, and Word Press.
- Ability to multitask and meet project deadlines.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrate basic employability skills such as timeliness, appropriate dress, interpersonal communication, and time management.
- Receive and solicit feedback from supervisors and effectively apply feedback on the job.

- Communicate transferable and functional skills to prospective employers.
- Implement marketing and communications strategies in a higher education setting.
Salary: $14–$17 per hour.
