Job Description

The Department of Medical Engineering at the University of South Florida invites applications for tenure/tenure‑track positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will be an emerging or established leader in one of the following research emphasis areas (preferred):

  • Biomedical Imaging / Bioelectronics
  • Cell / Tissue Engineering
  • Neuro / Rehabilitation Engineering
  • Molecular Medicine / Drug Delivery
  • Biomechanics

The role includes the opportunity to innovate undergraduate and graduate level teaching, develop research groups, and engage in technology transfer initiatives. The department offers competitive startup packages and high‑quality lab space in the growing department and the Heart Institute.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct world‑class research and secure external funding.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biomedical engineering.
  • Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Promote technology transfer and industry collaborations.
  • Contribute to the strategic mission of the department and university.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a related engineering/quantitative science discipline.
  • Evidence of national prominence and superior scholarship.
  • Excellent teaching and mentoring record.
  • Active external funding record (or strong potential). Starting level consider assistant; associate and full require established record.
