This is a full‑time, on‑site position for Chairperson of the Industrial and Management Systems Engineering Department at the University of South Florida, located in Tampa, FL. The Chairperson will lead the department, fostering academic excellence, research innovation, and faculty development. Responsibilities include strategic planning, budgeting, curriculum development, faculty recruitment and mentoring, promoting diversity and inclusion, and external partnership development. The role involves engaging with students, faculty, and staff to ensure alignment with the department’s goals and the university’s mission.
Qualifications- Proven academic leadership skills and experience in managing faculty and administrative staff
- Expertise in Industrial and Management Systems Engineering or related fields, with significant research contributions and a strong publication record
- Experience in teaching, curriculum development, and fostering student success
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders
- Experience in developing partnerships with industry, government, and community organizations
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in academic and professional settings
- Doctoral degree in Engineering, Industrial and Management Systems Engineering, or a closely related field is required
- Eligible for a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of Professor
