The Assistant Teacher, Bachelor’s Degree Level, assists teachers with the instructional program through individual/small group tutoring and/or directing classroom activities within a computer lab. The Assistant Teacher, Bachelor’s Degree Level, performs duties under the general supervision of an immediate supervisor, who evaluates performance through observation of work, periodic conferences, critiques, and/or records and reports.
Responsibilities- Administers pre- and post-tests for identified deficient standards/skills.
- Grades and files papers in student folders.
- Assigns appropriate worksheets and learning activities based on identified student needs.
- Tutors individual and small groups of students.
- Maintains records of student progress on assigned activities and worksheets.
- Replenishes and reproduces instructional materials and tests.
- Confers with teachers and assists teachers on student performance and instructional planning.
- Checks and maintains computer lab and equipment/supplies.
- Supervises student behavior with and without teacher assistance.
- Schedules students for computer lab and/or individual/small group instructional sessions.
- Participates in school activities and special events.
- Participates in conferences with parents of students.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. Physical presence is a part of a reliable and predictable pattern of attendance.
