PT Guitar Instructor

Berkeley Preparatory School is an independent, co‑educational, Episcopal‑affiliated college preparatory school located in Tampa, Florida. Founded in 1960, the school enrolls about 1,400 students in grades Pre‑K‑12. The campus spans 86 acres and features 29 state‑of‑the‑art buildings. The Conservatory of Music offers a range of instrumental programs and strives to educate students with a holistic approach to intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and physical growth.

The Conservatory of Music is seeking qualified instructors to teach private, on‑campus guitar and bass guitar lessons to students ranging from beginners to advanced, including All‑State caliber musicians. The ideal candidate will inspire and guide young musicians, tailoring lessons to each student’s needs and supporting their overall development. The position is part‑time.

• Provide weekly individual instruction to students ranging from beginner through advanced levels, including All‑State caliber musicians.
• Tailor lessons to meet the needs of each student, fostering technical growth, musicality, and independent musicianship.
• Communicate regularly with students, families, and Conservatory Directors to support overall student development.
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment that inspires students to achieve their full potential.

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field required;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in guitar and bass guitar pedagogy and in diverse musical styles, including popular music.
• Prior experience teaching private lessons to students of varied ability levels and varied musical interests.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience preparing students for auditions (e.g., All‑State, adjudications/competitions, college entrance).
• A collaborative spirit and interest in contributing to a thriving school music community.
