Doctor of Philosophy degree with a major or concentration in Accountancy from an AACSB accredited institution or international equivalent. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of associate professor or full professor. Must have publications in the top ranked accounting journals as identified by the UTD or FT50 publication lists.

• Both AACSB college and accountancy accreditation of program granting the candidate’s degree.
• Reputation of program granting the candidate’s degree.
• Evidence of ability to publish in top-level journals such as those on the UTD or FT50 list. A candidate’s record should support credentialing at the SA (scholar academic) classification under AACSB guidelines.
• Evidence of experience or ability to teach courses in auditing or financial accounting.
• Evidence of the ability to incorporate data analytics and quantitative skills into courses they have taught or can teach.
• Overall quality of the candidate as indicated by letters of reference and personal contacts.
• Professional certifications such as CPA.
• Reputation of program(s) where the candidate has been employed.
• Practice experience.
