Job DescriptionThe School of Geosciences at the University of South Florida seeks to fill this 9‑month, full‑time, tenure‑earning Assistant Professor position focused on Structural Geology. We seek an innovative scholar who advances teaching and research in Structural Geology. Candidates who bridge strengths in geophysics, tectonics, and volcano logy are especially encouraged to apply. Salary is negotiable.
Responsibilities- Maintain an active, externally funded research program.
- Teach and develop courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Advise graduate students.
- Contribute to departmental and university services.
- Potential courses include introductory geology, structural geology, tectonics, and field mapping at our field station in Idaho during the summer.
- Demonstrated interest in fostering interdisciplinary research is desirable.
- Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Geology, Geophysics, or a closely related field.
- ABD (All But Dissertation) candidates are welcome; completion of degree required by August 7, 2026.
- Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
