Assistant Professor of Criminology, Tenure Track
The Department of Criminology at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa invites applications for two nine‑month tenure‑track Assistant Professor positions to begin August 7, 2026. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related social science discipline by the date of appointment. Advanced assistants are encouraged to apply; ABDs will be considered but degree must be in hand by time of appointment.
Area of specialization is open. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate an ability to make a significant contribution to the department’s doctoral program. Evidence of effective teaching experience, online or in person, is preferred, and applicants should show a strong record of research productivity and grant potential. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Review of applications will begin September 12, 2025 and will continue until positions are filled.

Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Criminology or a closely related field; J.D. degrees are not acceptable. Degree must be conferred by August 7, 2026.
- Evidence of publication record.
- Evidence of effective teaching at the university level.
- Evidence of a strong or promising publication record.
- Evidence of ability to secure external funding.
- Strong record of research productivity commensurate with rank and grant experience or potential.
