Overview
The University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine, in partnership with Tampa General Hospital (TGH) Transplant Institute, is seeking a full-time academic pulmonologist specializing in Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) and Lung Transplant. This faculty position is offered at an open rank Professor level and is part of the Center for Advanced Lung Disease and Lung Transplant Program, the only such center on Florida’s West Coast, serving nearly 5 million people.
The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team that includes cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and transplant specialists. This is a 12-month, salaried appointment with attending privileges at Tampa General Hospital and its affiliates.
- Clinical:
Provide Critical Care and Pulmonary/Interstitial Lung Disease services for the Center for Advanced Lung Disease at TGH and/or other affiliated hospitals and clinics. - Teaching:
Develop didactic teaching sessions, grand rounds, and clinical teaching of residents and medical students; participate in the USF fellowship program. - Administrative:
Serve as the Program Director for the Interstitial Lung Disease Program within the Center for Advanced Lung Disease. - Academic:
Engage in multidisciplinary ICU rounds; participate in teaching, research, service, and related activities; may represent the university, college/school, or department.
Minimum: Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate/Full Professor, typically will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
Preferred: Experience in Interstitial Lung Disease. Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent. Obtain and maintain a full unrestricted FL Medical License, credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals assigned for clinical duties. The candidate will participate in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine.
Must be board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care.
