At Alpha Graphics Tampa
, we aren't just a print shop; we are a visual marketing partner for local businesses. We are expanding our Large Format division and looking for a Lead Signage Specialist to captain this ship.
If you have experience at a shop like Fast Signs, Signarama, or an independent sign company, and you are ready for a role with better hours, professional clients, and state‑of‑the‑art equipment, we want to meet you.
The Equipment You’ll OwnYou won’t be fighting with outdated gear here. You will be operating a brand‑new, top‑tier production suite:
- Epson S80600 (Eco‑Solvent) for high‑end vehicle and outdoor graphics.
- Xante X-33 (Flatbed UV) for ADA braille signage and rigid substrates.
- Graphtec Plotter & GFP Laminator for precision finishing.
This is a hybrid role. You won’t be stuck in the back room all day. Your week will be a mix of production, project management, and on‑site work.
- Production & Finishing: Running the Epson and Xante, weeding vinyl, masking, laminating, and mounting prints to substrates (ACM, Coroplast, Acrylic, Foamcore).
- Installation: heading out to client sites to install window graphics, wall murals, dimensional lettering, and vehicle graphics.
- Site Surveys: Visiting clients to take measurements and photos, ensuring our sales team quotes the job correctly.
- Pre-Press: Checking client files in Adobe Illustrator to ensure bleeds, cut lines, and colors are set up for success before you hit "print."
- Experience: 3+ years in the sign industry is required. You should be comfortable working independently.
- The "Hand Skills": You know how to mount a 4x8 board without bubbles, you can wrap a vehicle door handle, and you know the difference between cast and calendered vinyl.
- The Tech
Skills:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator/Photoshop) and RIP software (Onyx or similar). - The Attitude: You take pride in your work. You are a problem solver who catches errors before they are printed.
- Must-Haves: A valid Driver’s License (for site visits) and reliable transportation.
- Competitive Pay: We recognize that doing both production and installation is a specialized skill set, and we pay accordingly. Installation Bonus Pay
- Growth Potential: You are the lead on this team. As we grow the sign department, your opportunities grow with it.
- Great Culture: We work hard, but we operate with a professional B2B schedule (no late retail nights).
If you are ready to stop just "making signs" and start managing the department, apply now. Please include a brief note about the equipment you have worked with in the past.
