Overview
The Associate Producer helps the newscast producers with various tasks which include writing stories and other content, creating graphics, editing video, and posting video to the website.
Responsibilities- Writes stories
- Creates graphics
- Balances news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts
- Edits video
- Pitch story ideas
- Helps manage various news segments
- Writes stories for the website and other eMedia platforms
- Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
- Trains for the ability to produce newscasts for broadcast
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelors degree in Journalism or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work any shift including weekends and on holidays
