Position: Graphic Designer (CENTCOM Public Affairs Directorate)

Opportunity:
Graphic Designer

Bottom Line Up Front: Hoplite Group is seeking a Graphic Designer to support contracted services for the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Public Affairs Directorate (CCPA). The Graphic Designer will be responsible for developing high-quality visual content across print and digital platforms, including presentations, exhibits, marketing materials, and briefings.

Location: HQ CENTCOM, Mac Dill AFB with potential work at CONUS or other CENTCOM areas.

Level of Effort: Full-time

Availability: Anticipated Spring-Summer 2026 start date.

Objective

Execute the following responsibilities in support of the CENTCOM Public Affairs Directorate:

  • Collaborative Design & Development:
    • Work closely with editors, subject matter experts, and leadership to create mission-aligned visual products.
    • Interpret project objectives and incorporate feedback from senior leaders to ensure clarity, impact, and effectiveness.
  • Exhibit & Display Design:
    • Conceptualize, design, and produce exhibits, infographics, and display art for official presentations and engagements.
    • Develop creative solutions from rough sketches or minimal guidance, ensuring designs align with communication goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Creative Direction:
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess design requirements, audience demographics, and strategic messaging.
    • Provide multiple design options when project requirements are ambiguous, using creative judgment to guide visual direction.
  • Digital & Print Production:
    • Utilize industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects) to develop print, digital, and motion graphics.
    • Ensure all designs are optimized for various platforms, including digital displays, social media, and briefing materials.
    • Adapt designs for use in both U.S. and foreign environments, ensuring cultural and contextual appropriateness.
  • Content Analysis & Visual Accuracy:
    • Analyze materials to ensure designs accurately represent information while maintaining cost efficiency.
    • Support senior leaders with presentation development, ensuring visual clarity and engagement.
  • Team Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing:
    • Provide guidance to junior team members or non-design personnel on best practices in visual communication.
  • Availability & Mission Support:
    • The Graphic Designer must be available to support emergent 24/7 surge requirements outside normal working hours in the event of crises, operational shifts, or mission-critical events as directed by the CCPA Director.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Security:
    Minimum SECRET clearance prior to contract award.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design, multimedia production, or visual communication with a preference for DoD or military environments.
  • Proven experience designing for presentations, briefings, digital media, and printed materials.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
  • Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout design, branding, and typography.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging visuals for diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX design, motion graphics, and interactive media is a plus.
  • Attention to detail in both conceptual design and final production.
  • Ability to work in a high-tempo environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
