Direct Hire Opportunity with Superior Skilled Trades
Location: Tampa-Fort Myers Region
Employment Type: Full-Time
Base Salary: $70,000-$80,000 (based on experience and overall fit)

Position Summary

Superior Skilled Trades is partnering with a well-established commercial construction subcontractor to hire a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator. This company provides a full range of interior and exterior services including plastering, drywall, framing, specialty finishes, and related scopes.

This role will support the full preconstruction lifecycle-from identifying bid opportunities through estimate preparation and project handoff. It's an excellent opportunity for a high-potential early career professional or junior estimator who is eager to grow into a senior estimating role within a full-service trade contractor.
Key Responsibilities

• Independently identify and pursue bidding opportunities
• Conduct site visits and pre-bid walkthroughs as needed
• Perform quantity takeoffs using On Center and Quick Bid
• Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted scopes
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to fully understand project scope
• Prepare and submit complete bid proposals, including scope narratives, assumptions, and clarifications
• Participate in internal scope reviews and bid strategy discussions
• Support project handoff to operations and project management teams, clearly communicating scope, assumptions, and budget structure
• Maintain organized estimating files, historical cost data, and takeoff records
• Continuously improve estimating processes, tools, and assemblies

Primary Scopes of Work

• Drywall
• Framing
• Plaster / Stucco
• Specialty finishes
• Waterproofing and related building envelope scopes
• Additional interior and exterior specialty scopes as required

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience
• 2-5 years of estimating or construction-related experience
  • Background in drywall, framing, plaster, stucco, or similar trades preferred
• Strong computer-based takeoff and estimating skills or aptitude
• Experience with or willingness to learn OnCenter, Quick Bid, and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed

Work Environment & Territory

• Office-based role with travel to job sites as required
• Territory includes Tampa, Fort Myers, and surrounding markets
