ARES Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Operations Manager to lead and oversee field operations for residential disaster recovery construction projects. This leadership role is responsible for supervising Superintendents, driving schedule performance, protecting project profitability, and ensuring compliance with federally funded program requirements.
The Construction Operations Manager plays a critical role in maintaining quality standards, managing high‑pressure environments, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget—while rebuilding communities impacted by natural disasters.
Who We AreARES Construction is a Veteran‑Owned Small Business (VOSB) specializing in residential disaster recovery construction. Based in The Woodlands, TX, we partner with CDBG, FEMA, and HUD‑funded programs to rebuild homes and restore communities, primarily along the Gulf Coast.

Responsibilities- Oversee and mentor Superintendents within Field Operations
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Monitor job cost reports, production rates, and financial performance to protect margins
- Track project costs and proactively control overruns
- Develop action plans for projects at risk of schedule or budget delays
- Source and manage subcontractors in disaster‑impacted markets
- Maintain compliance with CDBG, FEMA, HUD, and other federally funded construction requirements
- Conduct jobsite visits to ensure quality control, safety compliance, and operational standards
- Support field teams in de‑escalating homeowner concerns and resolving high‑pressure situations professionally
- Maintain accurate reporting, documentation, and communication with Project Managers and leadership
- Ensure teams understand how projects generate profit and hold them accountable to performance goals
- 8 years of construction experience preferred, with strong preference in residential
- Demonstrated experience overseeing Superintendents or multiple field teams
- Strong understanding of budgeting, cost tracking, and construction profitability
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and conflict resolution abilities
Strong leadership presence with a respectful, team‑oriented management style - High School Diploma or GED required
- No specific licenses or certifications required
- Goal‑oriented and highly self‑accountable
- Strong communicator who leads with professionalism and respect
- Skilled problem‑solver with the ability to de‑escalate difficult situations
- Works well within a team‑driven culture
- Maintains a “can‑do” attitude in high‑pressure environments
- Understands how construction projects generate profit and protects margins accordingly
- Base Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 per year (based on experience)
