Mas Tec Civil is currently hiring for Pipe Layers in the Tampa, FL area.
The Pipelayer works to ensure proper installation of the designated pipeline.

- Install sanitary and stormwater sewer structures, pipe systems, leachate systems, and waterlines made of concrete, ductile iron, PVC, HDPE materials, copper, corrugated metal, and other materials as applicable to the job.
- Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints, and coordinating layouts with supervisors.
- Locate existing pipes.
- Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices.
- Check slopes for conformance to requirements using levels or lasers.
- Dig trenches to desired or required depths using trenching tools or track hoes.
- Cut pipes to required lengths.
- Align and position pipes to prepare them for fusion or sealing.
- Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using fusing equipment, cement, or glue.
- Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Fusing – specifically if laying HDPE Piping.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment to remove and replace soils and earth.
- Determine the grade of trenching using tools, including lasers and transit levels.
- Operate cutting equipment to cut various types of piping materials.
- Operate small, powered equipment, including tampers.
- Cut, fit, and seal various types of piping.
- Ability to communicate effectively with crew members.
- Ability to think logically about the work at hand and compare site conditions with project designs.
- Ability to read blueprints and other project-related documents.
- Ability to use email, smartphone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents.
- Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance standards per the employee handbook.
- 1-year construction related experience (roads, highways, bridges, etc.)
- Completion of High School or secondary education is preferred.
