OverviewMas Tec Civil is hiring an experienced Construction Project Manager for heavy civil highway work in the Central FL area. The Construction Project Manager bears the full responsibility to oversee that the construction is performed according to specification, in the most efficient manner according to schedule and under budget. To accomplish these expectations, the Project Manager is expected to follow all project related procedures and company policy.

- Oversee construction to ensure work is performed according to specification, schedule, and budget.
- Make thorough studies of the project, discuss plans and schedules, assess needs, and determine the best course of action. Continue planning throughout the project for possible improvements.
- Plan field office activities including site plans, trailers, permits and fees, utilities, employee parking, temporary roads, lay down areas, tool cribs, insurance & bonds, safety & first aid.
- Represent the company at owner/engineer meetings, attend all progress meetings, and ensure timely submission of required documents.
- Coordinate internal scheduling meetings with superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors; conduct pre‑activity meetings before significant work items.
- Assist with personnel selection for key management positions and coordinate project staffing with HR; enforce company policies.
- Supervise project engineers and other engineering staff; coordinate hiring of outside specialty engineers; mentor junior engineers.
- Familiarize with contract documents, specifications, and change orders; prepare invoices, subcontractor payments, and timesheets.
- Maintain the project budget, analyze variances with the estimator, and produce monthly status reports.
- Negotiate and manage subcontractor and vendor relationships; ensure timely payment, handle claims and disputes.
- Ensure proper documentation: daily diaries, reports, accident reports, T&M sheets, photos, meeting minutes.
- Handle public relations and negotiate on behalf of the company at the project level.
- Ensure compliance with company safety regulations and OSHA regulations; coordinate with the Safety Manager.
- Serve as the top-level project manager, demonstrating leadership, training, and professionalism.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum five years’ experience in the heavy construction industry, with bridge, roadwork, and DOT experience.
- PMP certification preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Understanding of construction methods and practices in heavy construction.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Experience leading multi‑disciplined teams.
- Ability to direct subcontractors to achieve project goals.
- Computer knowledge:
Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; project scheduling (P‑3 at minimum). - Maintain onsite project documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate all site work.
- Well organized and detail oriented.
- Multitask and manage multiple sites.
- Read and understand drawings and specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Interact with people at all levels, ensuring high‑standard communication.
