Substitute Child Care Teacher

Bright Horizons is hiring a Substitute Teacher to join an inspiring team dedicated to nurturing young learners. As an on‑call substitute, you will enjoy flexibility and may work in different centers and with various age groups.

Bright Horizons at JPMC Highland Oaks in Tampa, FL is hiring!

• Part time with infant to school age from M-F with varied schedules as needed (hours not guaranteed)
• Our competitive pay ranges from $14.10 to $17.50 per hour based on education and experience
• Preferred: DCF 45hrs/exams completed (contingent upon state residency or time in field)

• Assist with hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of the children
• Maintain open communication with parents, sharing their child’s daily milestones
• Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines

Candidates must pass required state and company background checks, and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements:

• 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED is required
• 1 year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred
• CDA, Associate, or bachelor’s degree in early education or related field is preferred
• Florida Care Provider Clearinghouse Background Screening

This position requires compliance with applicable federal, state, local, Bright Horizons', and client site requirements concerning immunizations, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training. If hired, you will work in person in an early education/preschool child care center to provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery and services per Bright Horizons’ policies and guidance, in compliance with laws and regulations, and in a manner that ensures the safety of children in Bright Horizons’ care and the employee.

The hourly rate for this position is between $14.10 - 17.50 per hour
. This range is what Bright Horizons anticipates offering for this job opening in good faith. Actual offers depend on factors including experience, education, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.
