Description

The Director of Business Development will lead regional growth initiatives across the Southeast United States, overseeing market expansion, partnership development, and acquisition pipelines for a rapidly scaling home services organization. This strategic leader will identify new revenue opportunities, cultivate relationships with key industry partners, and drive initiatives that strengthen the company’s footprint in targeted markets.

This role requires a strong blend of strategic planning, regional market expertise, and hands‑on execution. The ideal candidate has proven experience developing and scaling business development programs within home services, field services, franchising, or related industries.

Essential Functions Strategic Growth & Market Expansion
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive regional growth strategy for the Southeast, aligned with company goals and revenue targets.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and demographic data to identify high‑value growth opportunities.
  • Establish and manage a pipeline of expansion initiatives including organic growth, acquisitions, partnerships, and new service offerings.
Partnership & Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry associations, regional partners, referral networks, commercial accounts, and real estate or property management groups.
  • Lead negotiations and deal structures for partnerships, ensuring alignment with company objectives and profitability requirements.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and regional networking opportunities to strengthen brand presence.
Acquisition Pipeline Development (M&A Support)
  • Identify and evaluate prospective acquisition targets within the Southeast region.
  • Support due diligence efforts by assessing operational performance, market position, and cultural fit.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (finance, operations, legal) to ensure seamless transition planning and post‑acquisition integration.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and HR to ensure growth strategies are aligned and executed effectively.
  • Work with regional operations leaders to understand capacity, staffing, and service‑level capabilities that impact growth plans.
  • Share market intelligence and competitive insights with senior leadership to support strategic decision‑making.
Performance Management
  • Track and report on growth metrics, pipeline progress, partner performance, and acquisition outcomes.
  • Establish KPIs for market development, partnership success, and revenue expansion.
  • Maintain visibility into regional performance and adjust strategy based on market dynamics.
Requirements Required
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, market expansion, sales leadership, or strategic partnerships, preferably within home services, field services, or a similar industry.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding regional market presence.
  • Strong understanding of the Southeast U.S. market, demographics, and industry dynamics.
  • Exceptional relationship‑building, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel regionally up to 40–60%.
Preferred
  • Experience in M&A sourcing, deal evaluation, or integration support.
  • Background working with private equity–backed or high‑growth companies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA a plus.
