Sr. Accountant

Description A growing non-profit organization is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This individual will be responsible for:

-Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards

-Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and fund/account analysis

-Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting

-Monitor and analyze financial activity by program, grant, and funding source

-Ensure compliance with GAAP, donor restrictions, grant requirements, and internal accounting policies

-Assist with budgeting and forecasting, including program-level and grant-based budgets

-Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and explanations

-Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including grant billings and donor receivables, as needed

-Support the preparation of tax filings and regulatory reports, including Form 990 and other required compliance documentation

-Develop and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls, accuracy, and efficiency

-Mentor and support entry level accounting staff, providing training and guidance

-Collaborate with program managers and cross-functional teams to support financial planning and decision-making

-Other duties as assigned.
